What do you think about when you hear “gratitude”? Do you think of giving thanks and showing deep appreciation in all you do? This will not always come easily because frankly, sometimes we just don’t feel like it or feel thankful whatsoever.
I remember the day I found out that I had HER2-positive breast cancer in March of 2020. Although shocked, my initial response was how thankful I was that I felt the lump in February and that it was during the pandemic. What?! Just days after being told that we all needed to work from home until further notice, I was finding out that I had cancer. I have 2 very young children to live for so I did not have time to be sad or for any pity. My spiritual confidence kicked in right on time. I just wanted to know what were the next steps.
Give Thanks in all Circumstances
Gratitude; finding those silver-linings on a cloudy day. Being thankful, that whatever changes my body would have to go through from cancer treatments, I can still work and go through the changes from home. I was 15 hours from my family since we had just moved to a new state and yet I was thankful. I felt good physically and spiritually. What are you going through today?
Let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Know that you are here for a purpose and we are thankful that you are here to read this post. We are thankful that you have breath in your body. Do not worry about yesterday or tomorrow. There is nothing you can do about the days behind us. What can you do TODAY?
What can you do TODAY to step into your purpose; to fulfill your purpose?
Find your heart; find your treasure
Spend time loving yourself. Self-talk is truly acceptable. Loving yourself does not equal self-centeredness or selfishness. Finding your purpose and using your talents is what we need from you. You are needed.
Gratitude in Practice
Let’s try something together. Let’s write down 3 things we are grateful for each night. Next, close your eyes, breathe in through your nose while saying the word “thankful” and breathe out, through your mouth, one of the things you are grateful for. Do this for each of the words.
Let us know how you feel after doing this for 7 days straight.
Thank you for your gratefulness today.
